The IC-2F built by Inoue Communication Equipment Corporation of Osaka, Japan was one of the first Japanese VHF transceivers for mobile use and was marketed in the early 1970s. In 1971, one year after the construction of this IC-2F serial number 5217, Inoue Communication changed its company name to ICOM adopting as its logo the ellipse with the capital "I" tilted to the right visible on the IC-2F S/RF instrument. The IC-2F frequency coverage is between 144 and 146 MHz with 6 crystal channels, the RF output in antenna is 10 W, provided by a final transistor type 2SC703. The antenna connector is a SO239, the microphone is dynamic with impedance of 600 Ohm. The power supply is 12 Vdc and the consumption is 2.5 A in transmission. The dimensions of the transceiver are: 9.05x4.37x10.23 inch and the weight is 15.873 lb. © IK3HIA, 2005. |
