Unda mod. "Pentaunda" R55/1 - Unda Radio S.A. Como - Italia - 1946.

Ricevitore supereterodina del primo dopo guerra, con ricezione su 5 gamme: 2 di Onde Medie e 3 di Onde Corte. La copertura di frequenza è: OM1 520-920 kHz, OM2 899-1600 kHz, OC1 5,5-8,4 MHz OC2 8,3-13 MHz, OC3 12,7-20 MHz. Nel retro della radio è inserito uno stretto pannello con su avvolta una piccola antenna a telaio ma nello chassis in basso è prevista una presa per antenna filare e la presa fono.

Per realizzare la R-55/1 la Unda ha utilizzato il gruppo di Alta Frequenza a cinque gamme mod. P1 prodotto dalla Nova Radio di Milano (parte racchiusa nella parte tratteggiata dello schema) la cui sintonia avviene con nuclei di ferrite che scorrono nelle bobine (induttori variabili). Il circuito supereterodina impiega cinque valvole con zoccolo octal: 6TE8GT, 6KN7GT, 6Q7GT, 6V6GT, 6X5GT e la Frequenza Intermedia è tarata a 465 kHz.

La radio ha dimensioni ridotte, il mobiletto è in legno con la scala parlante frontale di plastica che ricopre l'altoparlante. Le 4 manopole sul frontale agiscono sul selettore di tono, l'interruttore e volume, il selettore di gamma e la sintonia. L'altoparlante è del tipo elettromagnetico il cui avvolgimento è utilizzato per il filtraggio della tensione anodica. Le dimensioni della R55/1 sono: 26 x 16 x 13 cm.

L'alimentazione avviene tramite la rete elettrica e un autotrasformatore che accetta i seguenti voltaggi: 110-125-140-160-220 Vca. Un capo della rete elettrica è collegato al telaio della radio perciò, visto che la parte posteriore è coperta solo parzialmente dalla stretta striscia dell'antenna a telaio (sulla quale sono stampate le istruzioni d'uso), è proibito toccare le parti metalliche quando la spina è collegata alla presa elettrica. Il prezzo nel primo anno di vendita (1946) è di 16500 Lire.

The frequency coverage is: OM1 520-920 kHz, OM2 899-1600 kHz, OC1 5.5-8.4 MHz OC2 8.3-13 MHz, OC3 12.7-20 MHz. A narrow panel with a small frame antenna wrapped around it is inserted into the back of the radio, but the chassis at the bottom has a socket for a wire antenna and a phono socket. To create the R-55/1, Unda used the five-band High Frequency group mod. P1 produced by Nova Radio of Milan (part enclosed in the dashed part of the diagram), whose tuning occurs with ferrite cores that slide in the coils (variable inductors). The superheterodyne circuit uses five octal socket tubes: 6TE8GT, 6KN7GT, 6Q7GT, 6V6GT, 6X5GT and the Intermediate Frequency is set to 465 kHz. The radio is small in size, the cabinet is made of wood with a plastic front dial covering the speaker. The 4 knobs on the front act on the tone selector, the volume switch, the range selector and the tuning. The speaker is of the electromagnetic type whose winding is used for filtering the anode voltage. The dimensions of the R55/1 are: 10.2 x 6.3 x 5.1 inch. The power supply is via the mains and an autotransformer that accepts the following voltages: 110-125-140-160-220 Vac. One end of the power cord is connected to the chassis of the radio, so since the rear part is only partially covered by the narrow strip of the loop antenna (on which the operating instructions are printed), it is forbidden to touch the metal parts when the plug is connected to the electrical outlet.
