VE 301 W - Deutsche Philips - Valvo;  Germania, 1933. Questo è il primo Volks-Empfangër (ricevitore popolare) costruito in Germania e contrassegnato dal numero 301 (30 gennaio 1931) per ricordare la data della nascita del Terzo Reich. La radio popolare era stata voluta dal regime nazista per facilitare la comunicazione delle notizie tra governo e popolo tedesco. La radio venne realizzata in economia da diverse ditte tedesche utilizzando un unico progetto concordato con il Ministero delle Comunicazioni. L'esemplare visibile nelle foto per esempio fu realizzato da Philips Radio e Valvo, ma moltissime altre aziende tedesche concorsero alla realizzazione del massiccio programma di costruzione. ll progetto del ricevitore fu completato in breve tempo e la VE301 fu messa in commercio in Germania al prezzo politico di 76 marchi, equivalente ad un terzo del prezzo allora corrente per poter acquistare un ricevitore dalle analoghe prestazioni. Il circuito utilizzava la rivelazione a reazione nella gamma delle Onde Lunghe e Onde Medie e impiegava tre valvole: REN904 (triodo a RF rivelatore rigenerativo), RES164 (pentodo di potenza audio) e RGN354 (rettificatrice a semionda), tutte con zoccolo a spinotti del tipo europeo. L'altoparlante era del tipo a spillo ad alta impedenza che non necessitava di trasformatore d'uscita (soluzione molto in uso negli anni 20) con una vistosa calamita avvitata alla parte posteriore del cestello che aveva il diametro di 24 cm. L'alimentazione avveniva tramite la rete elettrica a 110 - 220 V con trasformatore dotato di cambio tensione. Veniva prodotto anche un modello di VE con alimentazione a batterie per le zone sprovviste di energia elettrica. This is the first Volks-Empfangër (people's receiver) built in Germany and marked with the number 301 (January 30, 1931) to commemorate the date of the birth of the Third Reich. The people's radio was desired by the Nazi regime to facilitate the communication of news between the government and the German people. The radio was built on a budget by several German companies using a single project agreed upon with the Ministry of Communications. The model visible in the photos, for example, was built by Philips Radio and Valvo, but many other German companies contributed to the massive construction program. The receiver design was completed in a short time and the VE301 was put on the market in Germany at the official price of 76 marks, equivalent to a third of the then current price for a receiver with similar performance. The circuit used reaction detection in the Long Wave and Medium Wave range and employed three valves: REN904 (regenerative detector RF triode), RES164 (audio power pentode) and RGN354 (half-wave rectifier), all with European-type pin sockets. The loudspeaker was an high-impedance pin type that did not require an output transformer (a solution very popular in the 1920s) with a conspicuous magnet screwed to the rear of the basket which had a diameter of 9.4 inches. Power was supplied via the 110 - 220 V mains with a transformer equipped with voltage change. A battery-powered VE model was also produced for areas without electricity.
