Heathkit XR-1 - AM transistor radio - U.S.A. 1957. Is the first kit radio from the begin of transistor age, this radio uses six metal-cased Texas transistors (2N252, 2N253, 2N254, 2N238, 2N185, 2N185) and 2 germanium diodes. It's powered by six 1,5 V. UM1 (R20) batteries that allow long working life (between 500 and 1000 hours). Since a long time i use the old Heathkit to listen the news every morning during brekfast, the radio has a nice sound and the batteries are always ok.

E' la prima radio in scatola di montaggio dall'inizio dell'era del transistor, utilizza 6 transistor Texas con involucro metallico (2N252, 2N253, 2N254, 2N238, 2N185, 2N185) e 2 diodi al germanio. E' alimentato da sei batterie da 1,5 V. UM1 (R20) che permettono una lunga autonomia (tra le 500 e 1000 hours). Da lungo tempo utilizzo il vecchio Heathkit per ascoltare le notizie durante la colazione al mattino, la radio ha una buona riproduzione e le batterie sono sempre ok.
