Ricevitore supereterodina prodotto dalla Philips nei primi anni '50 in Italia e in molte altre fabbriche europee. La BI-310A riceve le Onde Medie, le Onde Lunghe e le Onde Corte, e utilizza cinque valvole con zoccolo Rimlock: ECH42 convertitrice, EF41 nella Media Frequenza a 468 kHz, EBC41 preamplificatrice audio, EL41 finale audio e la AZ41 raddrizzatrice a doppia semionda.

Il mobile è in materiale plastico, l'altoparlante è un magnetodinamico del diametro di 15 cm, la scala parlante è orizzontale con sotto le manopole dei controlli di volume, di tono, il cambio di gamma e la sintonia. Curiosa l'illuminazione della scala parlante che per mezzo della lampadina nascosta dietro il marchio Philips tra le manopole, rende luminoso anche il frontale di plastica che protegge la tela che copre l'altoparlante.

Nel pannello posteriore ci sono le prese di Antenna e di Terra, la presa Fono e il cambio tensione per l'alimentazione di rete con tensione selezionabile da: 110, 125, 140, 160, 170, 220 Vac. le dimensioni sono: 38 x 25 x 20 mm.

Superheterodyne receiver produced by Philips in the early 1950s in Italy and in many other European factories. The BI-310A receives Medium Waves, Long Waves and Short Waves, and uses five valves with Rimlock socket: ECH42 converter, EF41 in the 468 kHz Intermediate Frequency, EBC41 audio preamplifier, EL41 audio final and the AZ41 double half-wave rectifier.

The cabinet is made of plastic material, the speaker is a magnetodynamic type with a diameter of 5.9 inches, the dial scale is horizontal with the volume, tone, range change and tuning controls underneath. Curious is the lighting of the speaking scale that by means of the bulb hidden behind the Philips brand mark between the knobs, also makes the plastic front that protects the canvas that covers the speaker bright.

On the rear panel there are the Antenna and Earth sockets, the Phono socket and the voltage change for the mains power supply with selectable voltage from: 110, 125, 140, 160, 170, 220 Vac. the dimensions are: 15 x 9.1 x 7.8 inch.
