Zenith Royal 820 -
Zenith Radio Corporation - Chicago, Illinois, USA 1964. Beautiful AM - FM
portable radio from the Zenith factory, another 60's good product
from the US. All the components are mounted over and below a
metallic chassis (9LT42Z8), like in other Zenith products. The transistors
are inserted in bakelite sockets. The circuit is a superetherodyne type with
9 PNP Zenith
germanium transistors: 121-294 (RF), 121-295 (mixer), 121-296 (osc.),
121-297 (1st IF), 121-298 (2nd IF), 121-298 (3rd IF), 121-300 (driver), 2x
121-301 (push-pull AF). The tuning capacitor is an air insulation
type, the AM antenna is a long flat ferrite bar with tuning coil on. The
FM antenna is a rod type horizontally mounted on the right cabinet side.
Wood case with leatherette on. The power requirements
are done by six 1,5 v C (R14) size
batteries, that allow a good life autonomy. The sound is warm like in all
the Zenith radios. The dimensions are: 25 x 16 x 11 cm, the weight without
batteries is: 2300 g. |

ricevitore portatile AM - FM della fabbrica Zenith, un altro buon
prodotto USA degli anni 60. Tutti i componenti sono installati
sopra e sotto uno chassis metallico come in molti altri prodotti Zenith
(9LT42Z8). I transistor sono inseriti in zoccoli di bachelite. Il
circuito e' una supereterodina con 9 transistor al germanio PNP Zenith:
121-294
(RF), 121-295 (mixer), 121-296 (osc.), 121-297 (1st IF), 121-298 (2nd
IF), 121-298 (3rd IF), 121-300 (driver), 2x 121-301 (push-pull BF). Il
condensatore di sintonia e' ad isolamento ad aria, l'antenna AM e'
costituita da una lunga bacchetta di ferrite con su la bobina di
sintonia. L'antenna FM antenna e' uno stilo montato orizzontalmente
nella parte destra del mobile. Il mobiletto e' in faesite ricoperta di
finta pelle. L'alimentazione viene fornita da 6
batterie da 1,5 v C (R14), che permettono una discreta autonomia di
utilizzo. Il suono e' caldo come in tutte le radio della Zenith. Le
dimensioni sono: 25 x 16 x 11 cm, e il peso senza batterie e' di 2300 g. |
